Album Review

Bongo Bongo Bongo successfully gets Preston Epps' hit single "Bongo Rock" into LP format. All tunes are about equally that good, provided you like bongos (which every teenager did in 1960, if you believe Les Baxter). Side two's "Call of the Jungle" is fascinating and somewhat Afro-Cuban, calling to mind Perez Prado's three long percussion suites: Voodoo Suite, Exotic Suite of the Americas, and Concierto Para Bongo.
