Revolving around the politically charged, Middle Eastern-undulating “El Matador”, one of the most titanic singles of the ’90s in any language, this Argentine ska-rock band’s 1993 album feels like some violent carnival. Compiling versions of tracks from the mid-’80s on, the set travels all over: Celia Cruz and Flaco Jimenez respectively add salsa and Tex-Mex flavour to the title cut and “Gitana”. There’s also a Latin-percussive remake of The Clash’s “Revolution Rock”, and “Quinto Centenario” sounds like a knife-slashing cross between Rancid and West Side Story.
