Kelly Richey's 1999 album Dig a Little Deeper widens her sound while remaining true to her group's bluesy roots. Songs like "Is Anybody Listening," "It's Rainin' in My Head," and "Cracked & Bent" have a more polished sound than the Kelly Richey Band's usual fare, but still feature Richey's emotive vocals and no-holds-barred guitars, along with an added emphasis on songwriting.
