Recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, Epiphany finds Vince Mendoza pursuing a typically subtle and engaging blend of classical and post-bop. Mendoza's composing style has always suggested that he would work well with an orchestra, and Epiphany confirms those suspicions, since it's never overblown — it's always evocative and quietly compelling, adding new elements to his music while staying true to its core elements. And with each listen, the record reveals more details and textures that weren't apparent the first time through, which only makes the entire album more intriguing.

A versatile arranger and composer, Vince Mendoza's music falls between post-bop and crossover, often being creative jazz with pop sensibilities. Mendoza began playing piano and guitar when he was six and grew up around music.
