Album Review

Released a year after drummer Denis Barthe officially announced their split, Soyons Désinvoltes, N'Ayons l'Air de Rien is the first official compilation from influential French rock outfit Noir Désir since 2001's En Route Pour la Joie. The 18-track collection includes material from 1987 debut Ou Veux-Tu Que J'Regarde ("Toujours Etre Ailleurs") right up to 2001 swan song Des Visages des Figures ("A l'Envers a L'Endroit"), including their breakthrough single "Aux Sombres Heros de l'Amer," Italian number one single "Le Vent Nous Portera," and a live performance of "Tostaky" recorded at the Vieilles Charrues. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
