Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire

About Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire

Denver, CO's Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire were formed in 2006 by vocalist Ethan McCarthy, guitarist Ben Romsdahl, bassist Zach Harlon, and drummer J.P. Their sound has been described as "funeral grind" due to its unpredictable combination of grindcore, metalcore, death metal, and sludge, referencing the works of Brutal Truth, Pig Destroyer, Job for a Cowboy, Discordance Axis, and EyeHateGod. The quartet has toured relentlessly from day one and followed its independent 2006 EP, Harmonies from Bleeding Mouths, with a 2008 full-length named Omega Drunk on the Blood of Alpha, released by Debello Recordings. This brought them to the attention of Prosthetic Records, which released the group's sophomore album, Songs of Ill Hope and Desperation, in 2010. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
