About Devian

Former tattoo artist and Marduk vocalist Legion called up old friend and Marduk drummer Emil Dragutinovic, worked in two guitarists, Joinus and Tomas Nilsson, a bassist, Roberth Karlsson, and gave it a name: Elizium. Shortly thereafter, the new group changed their name to Devian, and began to take their demo around to labels. Moving away from the one dimensional black metal sound of their former band, Devian took the more traditional metal tack, mixing elements of thrash and power metal, from influences such as Iron Maiden and Morbid Angel. Century Media stepped in and took in the new band of old soldiers, and in 2008 Devian released the Rickard Kottelin-produced and Fredrik Nordstrom-mixed Ninewinged Serpent. ~ Chris True
