I grew up listening to my mom's Walkman's selection of Madonna, Cher, and Prince, along with my dad's rock records of Bowie and Queen. Once I got my first CD player, Britney Spears was my go to artist. The rest is history. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill (Remastered) Lady Gaga, The Fame Marina and The Diamonds, Electra Heart Alanis' "Jagged Little Pill" made me believe in the power of honesty in songwriting. Gaga's "The Fame" proved to me that even a weird theatre kid like myself could be a pop star. And Marina's "Electra Heart" reassured me of the poetry in pop music. Tell us why you chose this song. “I Will Never Change” This little ditty I wrote in 30 minutes at the piano the day before my first hometown show. No other song was easier or more natural to write. It holds a special place in my heart, reminding me of a time in my life when I was truly fearless. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Working with pop legend Dallas Austin was one of the best experiences of my life, both as a human and an artist. He knows exactly how to extract the very best from a songwriter and put it so beautifully and naturally to music. I love him to death. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Just one: to take over the world on pop song at a time.
