About Semisonic

Semisonic is a Minneapolis rock trio cofounded in 1995 by former Trip Shakespeare members Dan Wilson and John Munson, along with Jacob Slichter. ∙ Their Grammy-nominated single “Closing Time” spent five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart in 1998 and became their signature song. ∙ In 2001, “Chemistry,” from their third LP, All About Chemistry, reached No. 6 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs chart. ∙ “One True Love,” from 2001, was cowritten by Carole King and featured the legendary singer-songwriter on vocals and electric piano. ∙ Dan Wilson has won two Grammy Awards: Song of the Year, for cowriting The Chicks’ “Not Ready to Make Nice,” and Album of the Year, for his production work on Adele’s 21.
