About The Gatlin Brothers

Larry, Steve, and Rudy Gatlin rose to prominence as part of Tammy Wynette’s roadshow in the early 1970s. After leaving the tour, Larry (with his brothers singing harmony) scored a Grammy-winning country Top 10 hit with “Broken Lady.” The following year, “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love” became Gatlin’s first number one. The brothers subsequently signed with Columbia, officially billing themselves as a trio for the country chart topper “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love.” Though the follow-up, “The Midnight Choir,” was deemed too controversial for many radio stations, the brothers still scored an amazing string of Top 40 hits during the 1980s with their smooth Countrypolitan style and Larry’s amiable country croon. They disbanded in 1991.
