About Twinsmith

Twinsmith are an Omaha-based indie quartet with a sunny, chilled-out surf pop vibe. Friends Jordan Smith (vocals, guitars) and Matt Regner (vocals, guitar, keyboards) originally operated a more Americana-inspired version of the group called Betsy Wells before altering both their name and their creative course. Rechristening themselves as Twinsmith (a play on Jordan's surname and the Minnesota Twins baseball team), they recruited drummer Oliver J. Morgan and bassist Bill Sharp, and recorded their self-titled debut in the spring of 2013. Not long after the album's release, they were approached by veteran Omaha indie Saddle Creek Records to record a 7" single called "Honestly." With a new label deal in place, Twinsmith spent 2014 writing and recording their follow-up, Alligator Years, which arrived in early 2015. Slimming back down to a duo, Smith and Regner collaborated with producer Graham Ulciny (the Faint, Reptar) to record their third LP, 2017's Stay Cool. ~ Timothy Monger
