About Vic Thrill

Vic Thrill arose from the ashes of two different New York City bands, the Bogmen and Garden Variety. After the dissolution of these groups, their principal members gathered in N.Y.C. for impromptu jams that led in kinds of crazy directions. Head Bogman Billy Campion was also the impresario of a creative think tank in the city's Williamsburg neighborhood known as the Vic Thrill Salon. Renaming himself after his compound, Campion became Vic Thrill, together with guitarist Saturn Missile (Anthony Rizzo, ex-Garden Variety), bassist/keyboardist Aure Dextra, and drummer Clubber X. The band developed a unique sound that suggested David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust era, if the Thin White Duke had been blessed with modern electronic programming, a love of polyrhythmic world music, and a considerable desire to dance. ~ Johnny Loftus
