Francisco Petrarca (1304-1374), nos deja sus “RIMAS”, modelos de poesía lírica amorosa y patriótica. Juan Boccaccio (1313-1375) creó, con el “DECAMERÓN”, la novela corta de tipo moderno, la cual no pretende siempre moralizar, sino entretener y divertir.
