Album Review

This double LP is not strictly an Eddie Condon record (although the rhythm guitarist and bandleader is on a few of the recordings) but a collection of performances that he enjoyed by some of his friends. The 27 recordings feature a who's who of classic jazz, programmed in alphabetical order from Red Allen to Lee Wiley. Although most of the recordings have since been reissued in more complete fashion on CD, this two-fer is a good introduction to the freewheeling musical personalities that inhabited Condon's world.
