About CrashCarBurn

Joburg-based rock group CrashCarBurn was born after brothers Garth and Brendan Barnes called time on their first band, Tweak. When Etienne Janse Van Rensburg (bass) joined and Jaco Brittz (lead guitar and backing vocals) replaced long-time member Fabian Sing, their solidified line-up exuded a definitive dynamism unique to their genre.  Radio-ready singles and polished power-rock recordings characterise CCB’s sound, garnering them high critical praise and two SAMA nominations in 2010 for their second album Long Live Tonight, a collaboration with esteemed American producer Mark Trombino (blink-182). Add to this mix a high-energy, punk-rooted live set that earned them the honour of being the first SA band to play the iconic Vans Warped Tour and perform at SA’s My Coke Fest alongside rock legends Korn and Muse, and you get a crisp full package. Kings of the power chorus (“Long Live Tonight,” “The Light”), the foursome have collaborated with alternative group Shortstraw (“Kings of Summer”) and lauded rapper Kwesta (“Keep Walking”), proving their versatility is a key component in their sustained longevity.
