Floyd Lloyd

About Floyd Lloyd

A prolific songwriter and groundbreaking performer, Floyd Lloyd began his reggae life as a teenager, performing on Jamaican television by the age of 15. Six years later he posted a hit with the effervescent "Be Yourself." After relocating to England and forming a publishing company, Lloyd formed the Red Cloud Band, who peddled a unique fusion dubbed rock-reggae on a pair of Trojan Records singles, "Soulful Lover Baby" and "Slow Down." Ever the musical nomad, Lloyd relocated again in 1995, this time to New York City, and became a highly regarded television composer.
