About Kelli Williams

Kelli Williams had performed in church for several years as a young child, but her professional debut at the age of ten with Take 6 and Larnelle Harris surprised even her parents. Williams continued performing during the early '90s and appeared on the Sisters project, as well as other albums by the Gospel Music Workshop of America and O'Landa Draper. After winning on the syndicated television talent show Star Search in 1993, Williams signed to the Word label and released her self-titled debut album in 1995. The album spawned a hit gospel single, "Thank You" and after opening up for CeCe Winans, Kelli Williams released her second album, I Get Lifted, in early 1998. The album earned her Dove and Nashville Music Award nominations, and equal acclaim met her 2000 release In The Myx. ~ John Bush
