About Kira Isabella

Kira Isabella Wilkie is a Canadian country singer, songwriter, and guitarist who performs her lively country-pop as simply Kira Isabella. The Ottawa, Ontario native began studying voice at age seven, and was inspired to pursue the country genre after hearing compatriot Shania Twain's 2002 album Up! A few years later, at age 14, she won the Rising Star award at the Canadian Country Music Awards, which brought her to the attention of industry professionals, eventually leading to a record deal with Sony Music Canada in 2009. In 2011, her first single, "Love Me Like That," cracked the Canadian Hot 100. Her debut album of the same name was issued a year later and featured the follow-up singles "A Little More Work" and "Songs About You," which also charted. Meanwhile, the singer appeared as the opening act on tours with Carrie Underwood and Terri Clark, and in late 2013 signed with the U.S. label HitShop Records. Kira Isabella's sophomore album, Caffeine & Big Dreams, arrived in 2014 and went on to receive a Juno nomination for 2015 Country Album of the Year. In 2018, she released an EP called Side A, which was followed in early 2019 by Side B. The two EPs were combined as the Sides album later in 2019. ~ Marcy Donelson
