Atlanta rapper Ralo overcame a troubled youth to become an influential artist in his hometown’s trap scene. • The Atlanta native had a tough upbringing—he claims to have gone to Fulton County Juvenile Detention Center 32 times. He became a devout Muslim during one prison stay. • In 2015, Ralo achieved mainstream recognition for his single “Can’t Lie”, featuring Future. That same year, he debuted with the mixtapes Famerican Gangster and Diary of the Streets. • Around 2017, Ralo was one of the first signees to Gucci Mane’s Interscope imprint 1017 Eskimo Records. • After being arrested for conspiracy to distribute marijuana in 2018, Ralo independently released the mixtape Conspiracy. • His 2019 mixtape Free Ralo arrived while he was behind bars.
