The Cynics

About The Cynics

There seems to have been at least one "garage rock revival" every decade since the original stuff was first made in the 1960s. For Pittsburgh's Cynics, though, a revival is an unnecessary concept, as garage rock is seemingly the only music that ever existed in the eyes of the band. Since forming in the mid '80s, the Cynics have had an unwavering dedication to the fuzzed-out rock and acid-tinged pop of the love generation, with nary a concession being made to current sonic and stylistic trends. Though the band has undergone several line-up changes over the years, founding members Michael Kastelic and Greg Kostelich (who also runs the label Get Hip) have remained constants.
