Definitely strange, but a great movie to watch.

I am a huge JOhn Cusack fan, and while this movie is very strange, it's also pretty good. The story line itself is very interesting and the actors do a fantastic job. But if you're not into twisted plotlines and oddball characters, than this probably isn't the movie for you.

Deep plotline with a good cast.

Malkovich and Cusack give a riveting performance, along with a cat of other memorable characters.

My favorite movie

"Being John Malkovich" is a brilliant movie for two reasons: 1) the concept, the acting, the directing--all are just phenomenal. An idea as lucrative and rare as "John Malkovich" doesn't get tossed around Hollywood too often. And then the execution was perfect in all technical aspects as well as the characters--relatable, yet at the same time ridiculous. The second reason: this film cast Charlie Kaufman (as well as Spike Jonze) into the limelight. Charlie Kaufman has since written some of the greatest pieces thus far in this century--"Adaptation", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", and "Synecdoche, New York". So, 5 stars for "John Malkovich": a pioneer as well as innovation embodied.
