When wealthy prep-school senior Skip (Rob Lowe) learns that his shy new roommate Jonathan (Andrew McCarthy) is a total loser at romance, he sends the aspiring young Romeo to the city to learn the ropes before he ruins both their reputations. But when Jonathan is seduced by a sexy cougar named Ellen (Jacqueline Bisset), what begins as a lustful adventure ends with the discovery that not only is Ellen the woman of his dreams - she's also Skip's mom! Rob Lowe, John Cusack and Andrew McCarthy make their feature film debuts in this Mother of all Teen Comedies that’s a “pure fantasy for boys of all ages.” (Boxoffice)
Rob Lowe owns this film...
Rob Lowe is beautiful. I would have bought this film just so I could stare at his amazing face...however, I would have bought it if he wasn't in it too. It's funny, witty, clever and well-made...overall, just a really great film. I adore all movies from the 80s, they just don't make them as good as they used to. Totally buy this, it's worth every cent!
I love this movie!! Rob Lowe and Andrew McCarthy are both awesome in it, and it's one that I've watched more than once. It's very funny, and Rob Lowe is adorable in it. ;) Great movie. 5/5.
The cream of the Brat Pack crop!
RIP, John Hughes. I know that many people will be revisiting the John Hughes films since his untimely demise. Undoubtly, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day off top the list of Brat Pack films. But if you're looking for something from this genre that doesn't include Molly Ringwald, and much funnier (really!) take a look at Class. It's my absolute favorite of the bratty movies.
