About the Movie
Everyone in town is in awe of young Daryl's extraordinary talents and abilities, and so are his foster parents. He can perform advanced mathematics, master complex video games at first try and hit home runs in his very first baseball game. Add to that his genuinely charismatic appeal and you have a special child. Very special... A child in jeopardy, too, because the military has a Top Secret interest in Daryl that threatens his very existence. The most sophisticated computers and scientists are pitted against Daryl's incredible gifts in an adventure that will determine whether human spirit can triumph over cold science.

Rotten: If there is a subtext to ''D.A.R.Y.L.,'' and I'm not entirely sure there is, it's that one should always be kind to a computer, because a computer might be somebody's brother.
Fresh: Second half of the picture is the most far-fetched and also the most fun ...
Fresh: To be sure, we`re not talking about a bad movie, just one that could have been so much better.
Rotten: A filming-by-numbers mix of small-town nostalgia, soapy family drama and high-tech sfx, this Dreary Android Runaway Yarn Lags way behind the Spielberg thoroughbreds it tries so hard to ape.
5 stars .... for the movie and the cast
Were well made and acted family movie ... 80's family flick for everyone to enjoy ... When I was a kid I always admired Barret Oliver for his acting skills ... such a waste he doesnt act anymore ... this movie is a definite BUY!!! :)
I'm so glad this is on here. I watched this as a child back in the 80's and it brings back so many memories. Very heartfelt and touching movie about the power of love. Great family movie.
As a child I watched this movie along with my brother and sister, and we really enjoyed it. Now that I have kids, I tend to go back and buy some of the movies I grew up with, and they seem to enjoy it. This movie is one of my favorites, and now I will get to show my kids yet another part of my childhood. Thank you for having this on here.
