Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Despite a high body count, shock cuts and loud noises, this prequel to William Friedkin's 1973 horror film fails to deliver any palpable shivers. – Manohla Dargis, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: A perfectly mediocre horror film. – Kevin Crust, Los Angeles Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: As shocking as an Dokken album cover and, finally, as pious as The Passion of the Christ. – Michael Atkinson, Village Voice, Aug 25, 2004

Rotten: By the time the three or four false endings are finished and the credits roll, moviegoers will be left wondering whether Schrader's version will be released on DVD. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Customer Reviews

You're NOT missing anything, but it's not at all waste of time either.

OK. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay for this movie according to all the review, but then I thought just gave it a trial. Well, it was excellent in my opinion. It's not an absolutely scary, compared to the Ring or those movies out there, but it IS a thriller. It is probably ranked around "Final Destination". If you just want to know for fun what the beginning was about, just watch it. If you choose otherwise, you're not missing anything at all.

Do NOT waste your valuable Time

In the mood for a horror movie I came across this movie, in belief it may be a similar to the 1973 classic. 45 minutes into the movie I switched it off. The attempts to alarm you throughout the movie seem so forced it tipped me into boredom.

awful movie

dont listen to what any reviews say about this movie, its horrible. anyone who thinks this movie is good needs to be shot.
