Plot Summary

When Martin Scorsese, one of the world's most skillful and respected directors, reunited with two-time Oscar-winner Robert De Niro in GoodFellas, the result was one of the most powerful films of the year. Based on the true-life best seller Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi and backed by a dynamic pop/rock oldies soundtrack, critics and filmgoers alike declared GoodFellas great. It was named 1990's best film by the New York, Los Angeles and National Society of Film Critics. And it earned six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Robert De Niro received wide recognition for his performance as veteran criminal Jimmy "The Gent" Conway. And as the volatile Tommy DeVito, Joe Pesci walked off with the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Academy Award nominee Lorraine Bracco, Ray Liotta and Paul Sorvino also turned in electrifying performances. You have to see it to believe it - then watch it again. GoodFellas explores the criminal life like no other movie.

Fresh: Spanning thirty years and running two and a half hours, the film bristles with the violent passion, howitzer wit and virtuoso style that made Scorsese's reputation with the gangster drama Mean Streets in 1973. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Mar 25, 2014

Fresh: You walk away, tantalized by a view into the darkest part of yourself, glad that that part is still behind bars. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Amazing Moviemaking

This movie will stand the test of time and is certainly the best of Scorsese's commercial efforts; i.e., every movie he has made starting with this. The soundtrack really adds to the movie, and the acting as anyone could guess is great. Joe Pesci actually got and Oscar for his portraly of "Tommy," and Ray Liotta gives his best performance in a film to date. Robert DeNiro is solid. Goodfellas would have swept the Oscars if not for Dances with Wolves, and many will argue it is a better film. This is not the place for that, but I shall say that Goodfellas engages you from beginning to end - there is never a dull moment.

This deserves a million stars.

i think this is the sickest "gangster" movie on itunes. worth the 9.99 for sure.

Amazing...One of the greatest films period

About time iTunes got more quality stuff on here...and Goodfellas is about as top quality as you can get. Martin Scorsese's opus, is an amazingly told mafia story of the rise and fall seen through the eyes of one man in particular. If you've you've got the cash and memory to get this yourself a favor and se it!
