Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: An intelligent, beautifully acted adaptation of Christy Brown's first book.
Fresh: All performances are on the mark in this perfect little film.
Fresh: Not only does Day-Lewis master the physical aspects of the role, the minute-to-minute struggle of almost complete paralysis, he lives the painful genesis of an artistic character.
Fresh: Jim Sheridan's My Left Foot must be the most passionately empathetic film about a physical affliction ever made.
One of the best!
Daniel Day Lewis' performance (one of the best in the history of cinema) as the titular main character is akin to Spencer Tracy's enigmatic turn as Dr. Jekyll. The story is profound yet not overbearing, and should be sought out by viewers everywhere.
