Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The film's major difficulty is the screenplay by Jane Wagner.
Rotten: The Incredible Shrinking Woman is not inane, is sometimes wickedly knowing, and is only periodically boring.
Rotten: What's really incredible is how far this film goes to avoid the ideas, feminist and otherwise, embedded in its premise.
Rotten: Good intentions and one's own goodwill are soon diminished as script and direction conspire to render a sitcom satire that's indistinguishable from its target.
A family must see!
I first saw this movie when I was only 5 years old, but had the fortune of seeing it 3 times as I was growing up, and Lily Tomlin turns in a classic performance in this featured selection. I admit that it was quite a suprise to see this eighties gem pop up in the iTunes catalogue, but now that it's here I can only tell other viewers that this is one family comedy that you can share with the whole clan! I only hope your young ones enjoy it as much as I did when I first viewed it, and to follow it up I would definitely recommend "All of Me" which is another great film starring Lily Tomlin. That's my two cents and I'm sticking to it!
Saw this as a kid. Watched it again to see if it was still as good as I thought it was then. It was awesome!
the weirdest movie i saw as a kid...
my husband and i both remember seeing this movie as kids, being completely weirded out by it and yet coming back to it again and again. i clearly remember being so scared but always wanting watch it over and over. i don't remember what made it so creepy to me, but since i've found it on iTunes, we will be reminiscing over it together to remember why we loved and hated this movie so much. i will definitely say it's a must see because it was so memorable to me. i LOVE finding little gems from my chidlhood, especially ones i have remembered so clearly over the years :)
