Ever since I first heard of this movie, which just happened to feature one of my favorite artists ever (Edmund McMillen, co-creator of Super Meat Boy), I knew I had to see it. Recently, I managed to make it to a screening in D.C. It was everything I expected, and more. I may be fairly familiar with the world of video games, but even someone who has never SEEN, let alone played one will get something out of this movie. It's an inspirational tale, not just based on a true story, but recorded in the moment while the story unfolded. The editing work is amazing, and really shows what these developers went through in a relatable and polished manner. It's funny, sad, beautiful, and brilliant. It's an absolute must see for anyone with any creativity in them whatsoever.
Saw this movie in theaters and can't stop thinking about it. it is great and an inspiration. This movie is great even for people who do not love video games. Two Thumbs Up!!!!!!
Raw and Real, It is Wonderful
From my perspective as a developer, it is hard to view this film without it being extremely special and intimate. I hope that those who do not make games can enjoy the film just as much as I did.
The film was very inspirational. It was emotional. It was just, in general, fantastic.
