Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: This giant-screen rhapsody on the power of airplanes to revolutionize the world winds up offering little more than an endorsement of the tourism and shopping industries. – Ronnie Scheib, Variety, Apr 9, 2015

Fresh: As a sunny depiction of what to expect and what's been accomplished, the movie is nearly seamless, but is that all there is? – John Hartl, Seattle Times, May 28, 2015

Underwhelmed and Disappointed

I had high hopes for this aviation documentary but those hopes were quickly dashed just a few minutes into the film. The previews I've seen advertised show Harrison Ford walking amongst vintage aircraft so that is what I expected... Where we've come from and where we're going as an aviation community. Unfortunately for me, this is far from what this film is about.

This is simply a documentary showing how commercial aviation shapes the world we live in today. People are able to transverse oceans in mere hours. The flowers you're buying in Alaska could have been cut in Africa just 2 or 3 days ago. This product came from here and that product came from there... ect, act, ect.

The film has absolutly nothing to do aircraft or aviators. It really has nothing to do with aviation except that airplanes allow people and products to travel quickly. Maybe if it was marketed differently, I'd have a different view about it.

To me, it certainly wasn't worth the $14 that was paid for it... It isn't even worth spending the $5 to rent it.

It's a wonderful documentary

like the movie says, we were born in the age of airplane and we take it for granted and never thought of how great it is. This documentary makes you realize how amazing living in the age of airplane and how the life has been changed since then. It has changed the way how I see about the flying in future.
Totally love this documentary and highly recommended.

Living in the Age of Airplanes-OUTSTANDING!

To break it down, Living in the Age of Airplanes is a masterpiece! The miracle of flight that so many of us take for granted is shown as never before, with images and stories that capture and reveal the sheer essence of our world today. The scenes alone are sheer beauty, but the editing, sequencing and story make this film pure magic. I believe *everyone* should see and experience this film for a unique view that will change your perspective of the world you live in. To everyone behind the making of this film, congratulations on a spectacular movie. Well done!! When can we anticipate another?
