Only one operative has been awarded 16 purple hearts, and only one guy is man enough to still sport a mullet. In the 10 years since his fiancée was killed, special op MacGruber has sworn off a life of fighting crime with his bare hands. But when he learns his country needs him to find a nuclear warhead that's been stolen by his sworn enemy, Dieter VonCunth (Val Kilmer), MacGruber teams up with his trusty sidekick (SNL's breakout star Kristen Wiig) and an uptight lieutenant (Ryan Phillippe) to get the job done. The trio sets out on a rampage of utter destruction in this action comedy that's so over-the-top, it "makes The Hangover look like Beaches" (Joblo.com)! Watch the never before seen unrated version.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: A film that poses a philosophical question fundamental to our inquiry here, namely: "Why does this exist?"
Rotten: A naughty throwaway in all senses of the word throwaway -- 90 minutes of talented performers doing and saying dumb, crude stuff in pursuit of an elusive laugh, in a disposable action-comedy...
Fresh: How much mileage can a comedy get from a single joke? Quite a bit, judging from the guffaws-to-groaners ratio in MacGruber...
Fresh: While this jury-rigged exercise may not be an explosion of laughs, it's no dud, either.
Give it a chance
This is sure to be a cult classic a few years down the line- I haven't laughed this hard in a movie in a long time. Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised, worth a viewing.
If you thought this was going to be a serious movie and you're upset about it, clearly you missed the point. Turn off your brain and laugh! Yeah, it's kind of stupid, but it's also kind of awesome.
This is a funny movie that should make you laugh: the purpose of a comedy.
Forget the high-brow critics who pan this movie out of concern for projecting sophistication instead of spotting entertainment. This is one of the funniest comedies I have seen. It is ridiculous, absurd and irreverent: everything you want in a comedy. It's probably more geared towards guy humor.
Thumbs up. Good stuff.
