About the Movie
John Steinbeck's classic 1937 novel is given new life by director Gary Sinise who also plays the part of George Milton, a laborer who has thrown in his lot with a hulking giant, Lennie Small (John Malkovich), whose brain failed to develop with his body. George has become Lennie's protector. Although retarded, Lennie is a willing, strong worker, and between them they expect to earn enough money to buy their own small piece of land. Lennie's strength is also his curse. He has a childlike attachment to small animals, but often crushes them to death. And women, to Lennie, are like soft, small and gentle animals. The tragedy that will emerge from this fact will involve an exploited and misused woman (Sherilyn Fenn).

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Of Mice and Men is a mournful, distantly heard lament for the loss of American innocence.
Fresh: The new film version of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men is lyrical, stirring, and beautifully acted -- a seamless adaptation of a novel many will recall with almost too much familiarity.
Fresh: Well-mounted and very traditional, Of Mice and Men honorably serves John Steinbeck's classic story of two Depression-era drifters without bringing anything new to it.
Fresh: Happily, director/star/co-producer Gary Sinise has approached it not with the awe of an English professor, but with the practical eye of a craftsman: Here are solid characters, a taut and emotional story, a beginning, a middle and a wrenching end.
Based of the great novel by Novel winning author John Stienbeck, this is the moving sory of two men and thier dream. Lenny is big and strong, but handicaped in his mind. George is small but smart. The two best friends travel and work together because George made a promise to look after troblesome Lenny. The two have a dream, to own a few acers of thier own, but that soon comes into risk.
Of Mice and Men
I watched this movie in school and I think this was the best movie I ever seen. Before we watched this movie we read the book Of Mice and Men and the book was great too but the book was a little different from the movie.
The ending was sad but understand able. I recamend this movie it's awsome.
