Set in a suburb of north-east Paris between December 1935 and July 1936 during the "revolutionary" period of the Popular Front (who introduced the first paid holidays and a shorter working week). Three unemployed performers decide to take over by force the music hall where they worked a few months earlier and stage a show there.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Although Paris makes gestures toward being a top-to-bottom examination of the city's social fabric, its perspective is solidly middle class.
Fresh: The French director Cedric Klapisch is a glib wizard at weaving folks together, but there are too many secondhand characters roving through Paris, his latest ensemble piece.
Fresh: Auds who like upmarket soap opera, sightseeing and Gallic films where people talk a lot about their relationships will be consistently entertained.
Rotten: At a 124-minute runtime, though, the writer-director has stretched a wide canvas, and only sporadically found anything worth filling it with.
La plus !
Dans le film que j'ai regardé si loin, la chose la plus splendide est ceci. S'il vous plaît regardez une fois.
Awesome Movie!! Beautiful :)
I looooved this movie! The music is beautiful :) i had to see it with subtitles but it was worth every minute of it :)
I just watched this movie for the first time, and I have to say, it's worth a repeat viewing or three. It has a great cast, great story and great music. This is one that if you say you didn't enjoy it, I might just question whether you've actually seen it.
