About the Movie
The Dakota Territories 1879. A handful of brave pioneers maintain isolated settlements in the badlands beyond civilization. Irish immigrant Fergus Coffey is near to winning the hand of his beloved Maryanne when she is suddenly taken from him, her family brutally abducted in a nighttime attack on their homestead. Suspicion falls immediately on hostile Indians. Experienced Indian fighters Will Parcher and John Clay form a posse and set out to rescue the kidnapped settlers. But as men vanish in the night, and horrific evidence accumulates with the dead and dying, the group discovers that their prey is far more terrifying than anything human, and their prospects are far more terrible than death.

Rotten: The pacing is too pokey by half, and the payoff is a wrenching disappointment.
Not too bad, cool monsters...
Is this a western or a horror film? ...It's a horror film, that happens to take place in the old west. Pretty much everything is well done, from the writing to the acting, to the score, to the costumes and period designs. The monsters were a really cool design, unique looking, and have an interesting M.O. The ending felt a bit flimsy to me, like it needed more of a climax, but all in all, it was enjoyable. Just the kind of movie that could spawn many sequels of gradually lessening quality. Check it out, it 'aint half bad. I'm right, and anyone who disagrees with me is wrong. All the beast -- Jesse
Fantastic unqiue plot!
Fantastic Unique plot! great movie, gore, although hardly western, more horror, it is a great movie, slightly similar to Tremors though but has a unique storyline of its own. Wicked ending. Recommend this movie to horror movie fans :)
Gruesome Campfire Story
DON'T WATCH THE PREVIEW, it gives too much away. This is one of my top ten favorite scary movies. Subtlety is what makes this movie really stand out. Most horror movies try to startle or disgust you. They're a metaphorical shovel to the face. This movie is scary in the same way a really good campfire story is. Unsettling, but not unpleasant. For all those wondering about the song at the end of the movie, it's Grant Campbell. I never heard of the guy until now but his stuff is pretty good.
