About the Movie

Sean Connery, the man who established the "007" franchise, stars in this tense drama about a group of North African prisoners who rebel against their British captors during WWII. Oscar-winner Connery ("James Bond" features, "The Untouchables," "The Rock") is joined by a superb cast, including Michael Redgrave ("The Lady Vanishes"), Oscar-nominee Ian Bannen ("Hope and Glory," "The Flight of the Phoenix"), and Ossie Davis ("Do the Right Thing," "Malcolm X," TV's "The Stand"). Directed by Academy Award-nominee Sidney Lumet ("Network," "Dog Day Afternoon," "Serpico").

The Greatest Movie That Fell Out Of The Pubic Eye

How this movie is not talked about is beyond me. This was without a doubt, Sean Connery's best movie. He was great in the Bond flims, he was beyond great in this movie. Beautifull directing by Sidney Lumet, going black and white was the right choice for this film. The supporting acting gives the movie it's stability, and w/ Sean makes it a true masterpiece. I can't say much more but just watch for yourself, and you will know what I mean. I reccomend it to any Connery fan, or movie fan.

Must see

First of all, why can't we buy this?
This a fantastic film, one of my favorites. Though known mostly for for his Bond roles, Sean Connery shows that he can really act. This movie is physically tense as it is emotionally. The supporting cast could not of done better.
I won't rent this, but I will buy it when it's available.
