Jonah Hill rides out one outrageously wild night in this hilarious comedy from the director of Pineapple Express. Suburban slacker Noah (Hill) is watching a neighbor's kids when he gets a booty call from his girlfriend in the city. To hook up with her, Noah takes to the streets, but his urban adventure spins out of control as he finds himself on the run from a maniacal druglord. Raunchy laughs and insane action - it's all in a night's work for THE SITTER.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: [A] terribly unfunny and overwhelmingly raunchy film that stars the normally likable, or at least comically forgivable, Jonah Hill. He is neither here.
Rotten: Jonah Hill bites off more than he can chew in this '80s up-all-night comedy.
Rotten: The Sitter seems to have a good heart, so why all the glib racism?
Rotten: [Its] most valuable contribution to the cinematic landscape is its blessedly brief 80-minute running time.
What the heck happened to David Gordon Green? His movies used to be entertaining and fun to watch. Now it's as if he's concerned about making fast comedies for profit over quality. Case in point, "The Sitter". Easily one of the worst and most disappointing films I've seen in the past year, it serves no purpose other than to throw a ton of recycled jokes, misguided gross-out gags and embarrassing lines from its forgettable cast. Jonah Hill, in particular, doesn't do much to save the flick. His character is one we've seen many times before in other comedies: the smart-mouthed loser whose only goals in life are to be popular with the cool kids and to make love to a hot girl. But the thing that makes Hill so annoying in this film is that he acts like an unapologetic, unsympathetic jerk the whole time. Not once are we given a good enough reason as to why we should find him likable. What's even more insulting is that he's given a pointless love interest right in the middle of the movie who we never get to know anything about. As for the kids, they're basically used for comedic effect and serve nothing to the story. It doesn't help that they constantly act like annoying little brats and deliver foul lines so corny, they barely ever produce a laugh. I'm really not gonna say much more about the film because there's absolutely nothing creative, interesting or even memorable about it. It's an 81 minute-long disappointment with cheap humor, predictable storytelling and a cast of unoriginal, formulaic characters. I admit I did chuckle a couple of times here and there, but that's about it. Overall, it's just a bad movie, plain and simple. If you really wanna get your money's worth, rent a good R-rated comedy like "Superbad" or "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and skip this dreck.
It's weird because this movie is not all that funny, but it is good in all the other areas like story, charater development, and lots of 90's hip hop music. LOL. Overall it's a decent movie. Jonah Hill is his usual funny self plus the little girl who plays Blythe is prett funny, but never hilarious... But then again I mean everything can't be The Hangover or Bridesmaids sooo except it & just watch it. The Sitter is difenitely worth a rent I wouldn't buy it tho. Hope this was helpful :)
