About the Movie

This is true. John Holmes had a penis 13 inches long. It was rumored he had slept with over 14,000 women and starred in more than 2,000 hard-core adult films. On July 1, 1981, four people were brutally tortured and murdered in a drug-related gang style execution at 8763 Wonderland Avenue. The “Wonderland Murders” remains one of the most high profile cases in Los Angeles; gruesome and unsolved. John Holmes was the lead suspect.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: If for some reason you are fascinated by the Wonderland murders, look up the Rolling Stone article of 1989 that brought national attention to the gruesome case. Otherwise, your local cineplex has lots of choices with more redeeming social value. – Walter V. Addiego, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Wonderland skips lightly along the sewers of human depravity as if the trip alone was worth the telling. – Ty Burr, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Overblown, overheated, overdirected, overacted, overlong and over here, in the local bijoux. – Stephen Hunter, Washington Post, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: True crime procedurals can have a certain fascination, but not when they're jumbled glimpses of what might or might not have happened involving a lot of empty people whose main claim to fame is that they're dead. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jun 24, 2010

One of the best Movies I've ever seen

From the explosion of "sex, drugs, and rock n roll" antics to the sad truth, this true story has it all, including great music and great direction. I promise this movie will be in your top 10 by the time the end credits roll.

Accurate, Excellent. 5 Stars.

In reality, this brutal multiple homicide was a tragic and violent bloodbath. Some reviewers seem to think that there might be a "nicer," less violent means by which to tell this true story; maybe a movie with zero drug use and more "pleasant" criminals. That is not possible. The people who were involved in this crime were not nice. They used drugs and engaged in senseless drug-fueled violence. If this type of reality is not something you wish to see in a movie, then steer clear. If, however, you are not adverse to exceptional acting, flawless time period recreation and an accurate portrayal of a subculture which thrived on drugs, then this is for you. Great soundtrack and perfect casting.

Very good movie.... You won't regret it...Keeps your interest the whole way
