Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: This noisy and wildly violent picture... is evidently pegged to the notion that nothing succeeds like excess. And because it is shamelessly excessive, it is about a half-hour too long. – Bosley Crowther, New York Times, Oct 27, 2015

Fresh: Sean Connery plays 007 with his usual finesse. – Variety Staff, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: A well-crafted installment in the Bond series. – Film4, Oct 27, 2015

Fresh: Sean Connery may have been eying retirement, but he and Bond were by now moulded together, his sleek machismo indelibly imprinted on 007 forever. – Ian Nathan, Empire Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Foreign subtitles under main title and english signs

As with all of these recently posted 007 movies, there are foreign subtitles under the main title and any English signs. MGM please fix so that I can download correct copies!

Meet Number 1!

Sean Connery does an impressive job at 007 on a mission to prevent a possible WW3 due to a Specter spacecraft heist. With lines that recall the 60s such as "What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?" the viewer is brought back to the early days of the space program. This is the first movie where we actually see Number 1 well portrayed by Donald Pleasance as Blofield. The haunting music by Nancy Sinatra adds to the beauty of Japan. Course no Bond feature is complete without "M" and "Q" with his state of the art gadgets used in the helicoper sequence.
It is definitely worth adding to the collection if you like Sean Connery.

Not the best Bond, but still a good one.

There are much better bonds, but this is still a good one. At least rent it.
