Album Review

While well known internationally for their remix and production duties, the lads of Jazzanova also deliver a strong hand or 11 behind the decks. Mixing delivers a sample of what you'd hear during a typical Jazzanova DJ set: classic and fresh new moments from their own catalog, various remixes, and a generous helping of exclusives from Extended Spirit and Attica Blues, among others. The mixing is crisp and focused, effortlessly blazing a path through their world of sound, a fusion of broken beat, future jazz, and R&B-inspired soon-to-be underground classics. Downtempo aficionados will find this to be a treasure trove of new trainspotting goodies, but it's also a pleasant and easily accessible breeze-through survey inviting newcomers to the genre to hear more.
