Brian Olive got his start as a founding member of the Greenhornes, and played guitar for the band from 1998 through 2001, after which he played saxophone and guitar for the Soledad Brothers (under the stage name Oliver Henry). His solo work mines a similar subterritory, but expands on the garage theme by including Nuggets-inspired psychedelia, Muscle Shoals soul, and horn-laden New Orleans funk, captured with an authentically analog, vintage recording sound. Members of his former bands appear on his recordings and back him up at live shows.
