Associated with the Latin dance movement known as tribal, Monterrey, Mexico's El Pelón del Mikrophone makes infectious, highly energetic party songs, often in collaboration with producers such as DJ Morphius and DJ Cobra. He is best known for his single "La Cumbia Tribalera," a Morphius co-production featuring Banda la Trakalosa and Violento which reached the Top 40 of Billboard's Hot Latin Songs in 2012 and appeared on El Pelón's full-length Los Reyes del Tribal.
