Canadian indie rock outfit Little Girls was originally formed as a solo project for Toronto musician Josh McIntyre. In 2009, McIntyre recorded a handful of lo-fi, punk-infused, Joy Division-inspired pop tunes and released them online under the name Little Girls to conceal his identity from family, fans, and friends. Positive reviews began to mount, and McIntyre began playing live under the moniker, sharing stages with similar-minded acts like Japandroids, Thee Oh Sees, and Crystal Stilts. The group's debut fill-length, Concepts, was released later that year on Paper Bag Records.
