Pearly Gate Music is the brainchild of Pacific Northwest singer/songwriter Zach Tillman. The brother of Josh Tillman (aka Father John Misty) and an active member of Seattle’s music scene in his own right -- Zach began releasing solo material in 2010 under the alias. While he shares the wry lyricism and '70s pop acumen of his older sibling, Zach's songs are more emotionally and sonically elusive. Using his bedroom as a makeshift studio, he recorded Pearly Gate Music's largely lo-fi eponymous debut album in 2010. Mainly Gestalt Pornography, which adopted a more refined and polished sound and reflected a newfound sense of hard-won positivity, was released in 2021. ~ James Christopher Monger
