About Ramadanman

Ramadanman is a dubstep producer from London, England, associated with the label Hessle Audio. Born David Kennedy and hailing from North London, he began DJing at age 14 and producing at age 15. He later went to university in Leeds, England, and became involved with the dubstep scene there. In 2006, he started his own label, Ramadanman, and made his production debut with the two-track digital single "Dynamic Balancing/Hungarian Skank," followed by a couple other releases on the label. In 2007, he started a new label, Hessle Audio, with fellow university students Ben UFO and Pangaea. They also started the Ruffage club night in Leeds. In the years that followed, he released productions on that label along with several others, including 2nd Drop Records, Soul Jazz Records, and Apple Pips. Besides his productions as Ramadanman, Kennedy released material on Hessle Audio under another moniker, Pearson Sound. Moreover, he did a bunch of remixes and appeared on a long list of compilations, most notably Round Black Ghosts (2008) and Round Black Ghosts, Vol. 2 (2009) on the label ~scape. In addition to his production and remix work, Ramadanman made a name for himself as a dubstep DJ. In addition to club and Internet mixes, he's credited with DJing the second disc on the Tempa release Dubstep Allstars, Vol. 7 (2009). ~ Jason Birchmeier
