Sacaulait

About Sacaulait

Sacaulait is a trio which plays in the tradition of classic Cajun pioneers. Led by accordionist Mark Allemond (formerly of old-time Cajun revivalists Tasso), they play the authentic style of music from early Cajun society dances that encompasses everything from the turn of the century through the '20s and '30s. Because of the long regional history of the music the trio performs, they gained notoriety near their Louisiana home. Their recorded history starts shortly after the band's founding in 1989, with the cassette-only release Allons Au Camp on their own Sacaulait Records. After numerous appearances throughout the south, they were picked up by Swallow Records for the 1997 release of Moi Tout Seul. In 2001, Sacaulait released their Sac-a-Lait Jig on Swallow Records. ~ Nate Cavalieri
