About The Easybeats

The Easybeats scored a series of hits in their homeland of Australia, including 6 chart-toppers, before relocating to England in 1966 to work with top pop producer Shel Talmy. The combination resulted in one of the all-time great beat group singles of the 60s, "Friday On My Mind," a top ten hit on both sides of the Atlantic. Unfortunately, the group found it difficult to follow up their hit, returned to the U.K. charts in 1968, with the ballad "Hello, How Are You," while remaining a one-hit wonder in the states. After completing an Australian tour in 1969, the group split up. George Young joined his two brothers, Angus and Malcolm, in the original line-up of AC/DC, before reuniting with Harry Vanda during the early-80s, as Flash In The Pan. The Easybeats undertook a national reunion tour in 1986.
