This live outing recorded aboard the S/S Norway in November 1995 matches the exciting flugelhorn of Clark Terry with the promising altoist David Glasser, pianist Willie Pickens, bassist Marcus McLaurine, drummer Sylvia Cuenca and the great tenor Red Holloway. Red and C.T. always make for a potent team, and the music throughout the set is consistently delightful and swinging. Highlights include Terry's "Quicksand," "Straight No Chaser" and a five-song ballad medley. Although nearly 75 at the time (an ancient age for a trumpeter), Clark Terry is still in prime form throughout the highly enjoyable and infectious straight-ahead date.

Possessor of the happiest sound in jazz, flügelhornist Clark Terry always played music that was exuberant, swinging, and fun. A brilliant (and very distinctive) soloist, Terry gained fame for his "Mumbles" vocals (which started as a satire of the less intelligible ancient blues singers) and was also an enthusiastic educator.
