After working for a time as a background singer for Emmanuel, Manuel Mijares (he has been billed simply as Mijares since his debut album in 1986) launched his own career as a pop star with a series of hit singles like “Bella,” “Sonador,” “Poco a Poco,” and “Simpre,” and has remained active ever since with nearly two dozen albums in his catalog. This set, Vivir Así, a collection of romantic love songs produced by Scott Erickson, was released in 2009 and went platinum in sales in Mexico, as did its follow-up, Vivir Así, Vol. 2, also produced by Erickson, a year later in 2010.
