Same Old

There has not be a lot to differentiate the Rolling Stones live albums of the last 20 years and this does very little to enhance that legacy. Why must we hear so many of the same old songs that we've heard so many times before. This was an ideal opportunity to showcase some of the not so typical Stones live material and show listeners what a trully great live band that they can be. Alas it was not to be. Keith, Ronnie & Charlie, sound as ever, on form but for me the big let down was the singing. Many of the songs sound as if spoken rather than sung. The energy is missing. Its not rock & roll, its tired.

The perfect album

This is the best album I ever heard. Esspecialy the song with Buddy Guy. They make all so much fun that they start to sing with their harts. I don't think its a problem that there are old songs on it. There are new songs on too. My top 3 of this album: 1. Champagne and Reefer 2. Faraway Eyes 3. As Tears Go By Exepted the older songs.

This is again a great live-album by the Stones. I think it's awesome they play the ol songs, but also with a modern sound. No way that new songs'd be better! Really worth it to buy, even if you're not as old as they are (but 18)!

As the self-consciously dangerous alternative to the bouncy Merseybeat of the Beatles in the British Invasion, the Stones had pioneered the gritty, hard-driving blues-based rock & roll that came to define hard rock. With his preening machismo and latent maliciousness, Mick Jagger became the prototypical rock frontman,...
