Returned 1 minute after unpacking
I decided to return it 1 minute after unpacking. The app, that you HAVE to use, otherwise you cannot use the device, immediately asks you to create an online Withings account and then demands your consent to share all my health data and all my identifiable data to their partners for marketing and sales purposes! This thing is quite expensive and then Withings will also use my data for making more money.
I bought it at the Apple Store, and I cannot understand that Apple would allow this privacy violation.
Privacy en ademhaling
Ik heb deze app gedownload voor de sleep analyzer. Natuurlijk heb ik eerst het product gekocht en daarna de app gedownload. In principe ziet de app en de user interface er weg prettig uit. Het is makkelijk in gebruik zoals je een app graag wil zien. Hetgeen me ontbreekt is een specificatie van mijn ademhaling waarop de conclusie mbt apnea wordt getrokken. Vergelijkbaar met de grafiek van mijn hartslag die er wel goed uit ziet. Wat me verbaast is dat withings wel informatie heeft ingewonnen bij medici omtrent apnea, maar niet mbt je slaap fases. Voor zover ik begrepen heb kan je niet op deze manier van meten (ademhaling en beweging) bepalen of je een rem slaap of diepe slaap doormaakt.
Mijn grootste probleem zit hem in privacy bezorgdheden die niet door withings zijn weggenomen. Als eerste zijn er veel gegevens verplicht, waarvan ik me niet kan voorstellen dat ze noodzakelijk zijn zoals geboorte datum geslacht en gewicht. Daarnaast wordt het me niet duidelijk op welke manier het snurken wordt gemeten. Is dat door een microfoon? En zo ja, wordt deze data verstuurd naar de server en zo ja wie kan dat horen. Bij het maken van een melding bij withings valt te lezen dat voor de duur van de melding, de behandelaars toegang hebben tot jouw data gedurende de behandeling van de melding. Ik vraag me af welke data, is dat ook de app data, zoals slaap gegevens of zelfs de eventuele audio opnames. Tot slot krijg ik als reactie van withings dat als ik het niet eens ben met de voorwaarden ik de app kan verwijderen. Maar dan heb ik nog wel een waardeloos product. Withings stelt me dus niet gerust, waar ik die verwachting voor aanschaf wel had.
