Los Angeles–based artist Mtendere Mandowa establishes himself as one of the most zoned-out stars of the Brainfeeder constellation with this short collection of relaxing midnight cuts. Throughout, the producer mixes cosmic electronic sounds with gentle hip-hop beats; the twinkling keys and shuffling, spacey drum loops of tracks like “Jahara” and “While You Dooooo (Extended)” soothe like the sweetest lullaby. But the more agitated and off-kilter percussion of the closing track, “Yellow More New”, provides a barbed end to a blissful dream.
